[F2009] Morning arrives with the sound of dull thuds in the distance from where you set up camp on the new floor.
PseudoGM: Now that the lights are on it's a bit easier to get a handle on this new floor. Mercifully the rain is gone, but you're now dealing with the other extreme: It's hotter than you've ever felt the tempature inside the tower. The floor plan itself is a little bit more involved than normal as well. There's a lot of small mountains and ravines passing through them, and large sections of flat, open land with sparse vegatation.
Sohl made a lot of noise and flutter about hustling before the lights fully came on, and as they reach their full brightness, he'll start looking for any good places for shade… if there are any. Towering garbage plateaus, rocky outcroppings…
PseudoGM: It looks like it'll take a bit of time to navigate to the other side of the floor with the mountains directing your traffic. And in the middle of the most direct route through one of the open plain area is a gigantic tortoise, easily at least three stories tall.
Sohl drinks a [Potion] as soon as he realizes 'that's no mountain.'
Sohl also conjures a brief [Breeze] for Shuu and himself.
Wrench lets out a sharp whistle and an unpleasant grin.
[OOC] Sohl: +13 HP
Shuu looks off in the distance, and looks at the tortoise. He whistles, taking in the gentle healing breeze "I think that's our target"
Harino: "…Yeah, I think so, too."
Sohl: "Uh."
Sohl: "The bounty didn't say we had to drag back a carcass, did it?"
Shuu: "Harino?"
Harino: "…No."
Sohl considers, and throws up another [Breeze] for Shuu and Harino. [+13 HP]
Sohl: "Well… might be able to do somethin' with its shell, at least."
Sohl: "Portable cover, rain deterrent, fashionable outerwear!"
Wrench: "Hell."
Shuu: "We'll firgure that out once we've downed it"
Shuu: "Heavens, it's huge"
Wrench reassembles her gun and crouches down next to a shrub, as if it would provide any cover for a gal her size.
Wrench: "Well."
Wrench: "I'm gonna get its attention."
Sohl nods. "Uh… I guess just be ready when it's in range! And by range I mean 'whatever its head will cover.'"
Sohl takes a few deep breaths.
Wrench gets its attention. (Bang.)

Shuu takes a deep breath and draws his axe, he slashes at the air and steps into the distortion "Let's get this started, then"
PseudoGM: Shwwooooooooothud.
[OOC] Shuu: Correct music
PseudoGM: It stops for a moment, before slowly turning itself around and letting out an angry tortoise noise. A moment later it seems to lock it's eyes onto the party, presumably near the edge of the open prairie, and begins its slow charge at the group!

Shuu drops the axe on the floor and draws the blade on his back "Alright, enough of this" he levels it at his side and starts running towards the tortoise- He accelerates so fast he can hardly be seen as he slashes past the tortoise, seemingly hitting nothing, he does so once, twice, five times in total, each slash leaving behind a distortion in the air. He reappears above the tortoise
Shuu "Fall away!" he comes crashing down, the distortions around caused by the slashes exploding in a tremendous fashing [OD - Dimension Cutter] []

Shuu finally picks his axe back up, and tosses it in the air. He rushes forward, towards the head of the turtle "Let's finish this" he jumps up, a powerful uppercut at the bottom of the turtle's jaw- At the same time his axe falls from above towards it's head [Warp Strike]

PseudoGM: a massive [43] damage!
Shuu drives a powerful [46] physical damage into the turtle's head from a two-pronged strike
PseudoGM: The tortoise starting rolling up into the air and back, before it's slammed down into the ground hard, making the entire floor shake hard. It's… unnerving, none of you have ever really experience an earth quake before.
PseudoGM: Probably even more unnerving when the tortoise begins to bounce back into the air after hitting the ground and spinning in the air…?
Sohl: "Whoa- whoa-!!!"
Harino: "…W-what the…!?"
PseudoGM: As it's spinning in the air it appears to slowly shrink, so that it's about watermelon sized by the tiny it lands back on the ground with a soft thud.
[OOC] PseudoGM: +10 XP
Wrench: "Hell. Yeah, that'll happen."
Wrench: (She doesn't get it at all.)
Harino goes over to… tentatively poke it with a katana. "…That could explain how it goes up and down floors."
Shuu: "What the…"
Shuu walks over to the now sanely sized turtle "It changes sizes?"
Shuu: "That's somewhat unnerving"
Sohl: "Aw… it's adorable at this size!"
PseudoGM: …Well, it doesn't move at least. The cannon looking thing on its shell looks more like a toy at this size.
Sohl scrambles over on all fours to take a look at it.
Shuu chuckles at Sohl
Sohl: "So it was just full'a hot air?"
Sohl looks about. "Guess that's about that's all what's on this floor."
Shuu: "It is kind of cute, but" he looks at the dents in his body "It definitely was full of something other than hot air"
Shuu: "Because it hurt like hell"
Sohl: "At least we could pick it up like this." And he tries to do so.
PseudoGM: It's surprisingly heavy! With a bit of effort you can get it off the ground though.
Sohl: "O-ooooooooof-! This'n's a buddy lift."
PseudoGM: Which reminds you; it is Very, Very hot. It's a veritable [Heat Wave] still.
Sohl: "Alright… even though that overpuffed tortoise kept dousing y'all in water, we gotta take a break, now."
Sohl: "Rehydrate and lay low until it starts dimmin'."
PseudoGM: And that fight certainly worked up a sweat, so it might not be a bad plane to set up camp until night and get some more rest yeah.
Shuu takes a deep breath "The whole being wet part is just making it worse, really
Harino is a bit glad she at least doesn't have to wring out her tail since she was pushed out of the way of that one blast… Her armour's just dented some.
Sohl briefly wipes across his forehead to wipe away… something (D…do dwarves sweat?) He takes a few steady breaths and begins to hang tarp across some sparse bushes.
Sohl rolled 5d6 and got 3, 3, 1, 6, 6 ( Total: 19 ) for camping desu
Sohl puts some effort into it. [-2 LP]
PseudoGM: Sweating dwarves. Now there's a scary image. Probably.
Wrench turns towards the horizon, sniffs, and goes off in search. [Foraging]
Wrench rolled 4d6 and got 3, 5, 3, 1 ( Total: 12 )
[OOC] Wrench: Ehh, I got nothin. Everybody eat a ration.
Sohl puts even more effort into it. [-2 more LP]
PseudoGM: Yup, the prairie was about as empty as expected.
The camp is sparse but well sheltered from the overbearing lights and its reflections from the sands and dirt. [You don't feel adverse effects from weather.] [The night(?) passes uneventfully] He hands out bottled water, and applies a wandering Water mote to them- they're now extra cold, and fortified with a few minerals to handle salt depletion. [+4 MP] [+4 MP]
PseudoGM: Refreshing!
PseudoGM: And a pretty relaxing camp on the whole, it seems like! The scenery's at least a bit different from what you're used to seeing, so it's got that going for it too.
PseudoGM: Eventually the lights start to dim, and night sets back in. It *feels* a little cooler with the lights off, even though most of the probably is coming from the heaters. Maybe the lighting was heating lights, too? It'll be a little easier to move around now, in any case.
Shuu looks up a tthe disabled lights "Did they really need the heating lamps?" he considers for a moment "I supose it would simulate the environment better…"
Harino: "I don't think anyone really knows what was going through their minds when they created this whole Tower…"
Sohl: "Creatin' a world under such constraints as the tower, but tryin' to recreate what it was before its destruction…"
Sohl: "Kinda makes strange pairings and effects, don'cha think?"
Shuu: That it does
PseudoGM: At any rate, travelling! It's a nice change, travelling at night. Get to hear lots of different noises than you're used to. It's easy going as long as you stick to the prairies and avoid the rocky protrusions, but it does take a long time to make progress this time as the paths are windy.
PseudoGM: Doubly so as, if I remember correctly, you were heading towards the heating system controls to attempt to repair it instead of beelining straight for the stairs up, yes?
Shuu was, in fact, heading towards there. It's a bit out of the way but can't leave this place's heating running on permanent heatwave
PseudoGM: Turns out it's *way* out of the way. On top of the particularly steep plateu near the edge of one of the walls, in fact.
PseudoGM: It looks like there used to be a ladder or something that lead up to it, but it's long since been destroyed and isn't really usable…
Wrench: "Knew I shoulda bought a grappling hook."
Sohl: "Pfhaaaaaaa…" he says, blowing some dust from his beard as he stares up at the plateau.
Shuu looks up at the plateau, if there was once a ladder there certainly must be remains, something at least for a good handhold, that'll be enough for him [Agility]
PseudoGM: Hmm. Yeah, there's not a LOT left, but there's still enough that with some rock climbing and nimble jumps you should be able to get all the way up there.
Shuu takes a step back "A moment if you'd please" he takes a bit of impulse and jumps grabbing at a rock, he pulls himself up in a flip and jumps to the next, all the way up
Shuu rolled 4d6 and got 1, 5, 4, 6 ( Total: 16 )
Shuu jumps up, and again- The last one lacks height but- With a single sputter of a thruster on his boots he gets one last burst of height, grabbing at the top with his right hand. He grabs with the other hand and flips himself upwards
Shuu looks around first- Any way to make a makeshift ladder for everyone?
Sohl cheers him on from the bottom!
PseudoGM: Looks like a success to me! The top is pretty flat, and the metal maitenance shed is located right in the center of it. Luckily it's not locked at least, so you'll be able to get inside with much fuss.
PseudoGM: …Inside it's pretty much just machinery and electronics though. All covered in a thick layer of dust; no one's been in here in ages.
Shuu shrugs and head to the shed, he looks at the equipment inside "This is… Pretty bad, wow" he looks around, first doing a damage assessment, how bad is it and what needs fixing
PseudoGM: Just at a glance you can tell a couple of the readings are all wrong, but… well you probably know how to handle it better than I do. [Operations]
Shuu shakes his head, starts removing dust from vulnerable electronics, getting machinery back in place…
Shuu rolled 6d6 and got 1, 2, 2, 4, 1, 6 ( Total: 16 )
Shuu is sure as hell going to get that working [1 LP]
PseudoGM: Near to repair some circuits on that board. That chords been completely fried, but you just barely have one long enough to replace it in your kit. Reconfigure a number of settings after doing your diagnostic tests… it takes about half an hour, but you eventually get it up and running correctly again. And then with a couple of settings changed, then heat slowly begins to die down. [End of Heat Wave]
Wrench can be heard cheering, the way down from the base of the plateau.
Shuu heads back out at the noise of Wrench, he flashes a thumbs up, and then works his way down
Shuu: "Not going to last too much longer without constant maitenance, but it'll do for now"
Sohl: "Haaaaaaaaaaa-aaaaaaa! Good work!" he exclaims when Shuu returns.
Harino: "I'm sure the next groups through here will appreciate it, at least."
Shuu: "Definitely"
PseudoGM: That said it almost immediately starts to warm up a little bit as the lights start to kick back on… but it's no where near the sweltering heat it was before. More of a comfortable heat, really. Laying out in the sunbeams all stretched out kind of weather.
PseudoGM: The base of the plateu is probably as good a place as any to get some rest too, after spending the night travelling across the floor.
Sohl: "Oughta be a bit easier now…"
