Ec Session 4 14

Afternoon, Boltember 3 Pyrday.
After another jet-powered rush across the magma - Trombe at times seeming like it was just trying to see how high of a plume it could generate - the party arrives at another stalactite-city, with the dwarven tunnels barely visible on the horizon.
Pyrtyr: "This place is a secret from my kin to the north."
Pak: "Hmm…?"
Hector scratches his nose. //"Neat."
Cassandra Lionheart: "That is good."
Pyrtyr: "When the mages fled, they did not flee just to the surface. They also came here. This is our only…remaining…city in the southern sea."
ORN: "hm…"
Pak: "ooh! Magic City!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Good."
Pyrtyr: "The traditions have been kept alive here, waiting for the day it would be safe to return, when our brothers and sisters would not attack us on sight. Thanks to you, that day is today."
Pyrtyr: "There remains a lot of work to do, but at least now we can start."
ORN: "Slightly more violence may be required before this day can be today. However, This Group can easily ensure this occurs."
Pyrtyr: "Perhaps, but we can handle what remains."
Pak: "Let's at least try to direct it away from the good guys?"
ORN: "Of course. Violence would not be for the good of friendlies and neutrals were it not being used on hostiles"
Pyrtyr: "I must spread the news, and…prepare."
Pyrtyr looks away at that last word.
Cassandra_Lionheart looks at Pyrtyr and smiles "You should."
Felicia nods.
Pyrtyr: "Meet me up top later."
He heads off into the city, almost as if trying to get away.
More than to go somewhere.
Cassandra_Lionheart lookd at ORN and sighs "Were going to have to hurt him are we?"
ORN nods
ORN: "Likely the avatar"
Cassandra_Lionheart looks down "I don't want to. Unlike the others…He was nice to us. I'd feel bad if we.." *begins to sob a bit*
ORN: "He has been suppressing it for some time has he not? He may no longer be himself when the time comes."
ORN patpats
Hector: "Well, y'can't make an omelette without breakin' eggs, can ya?"
Felicia: "A necessary sacrifice, unfortunately."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Yeah, but..but."
*looks down*
ORN: "His reluctance to aid in the discovery of alternate elimination methods may indicate that he is in fact hoping for such a fate."
Hector: "Maybe he thinks of dying by our hands a form of atonement."
ORN: "However, This Unit still does not trust the current sealing method. Hopefully he will retain enough presence of mind should Grav need to be dealt with…"
Hector: "Can't blame 'em. That was some pretty messed-up stuff that happened ages ago, and I'd be damn sorry about it if I was still around today, too."
Cassandra_Lionheart goes silent and walks awa from the group
ORN: "It may not be atonement. Perhaps he believes this to be the only way to prevent the upcoming impact…"
Hector: "Little from both, mebbe?"
he shrugs.
Pak: "Hm…"
ORN: "His experience greatly outclasses the duration of This Unit's existance… however the same can be said for the other spirits. It is safer to assume that he is dealing with equal minds, which may or may not be misdirecting on the subject."
Cassandra_Lionheart stops a little away from the group, and begins to all out cry.
ORN: "The increasing relative power of each spirit This Group has fought is also worrisome…"
ORN: "If this is caused by an imbalance in the influence of each, continued elimination and suppression of the spirits may lead to catastrophic damage when only a minimal number remain unfettered"
Pak: "Hm…"
ORN: "Which once again leads This Unit to its suspicions…"
Felicia: "True. I must admit I'm still very… tentative about our acts of late."
ORN: "This Unit strongly suggests an alternate method of destroying the moon to sealing additional spirits. Grav's influence in the matter may become too great to overcome with a second volcannon shot by the time two more are sealed."
Pak: "Maybe we'll have to convince Grav to just… not smash the moon into us?"
Cassandra_Lionheart looks at the group and then sighs
ORN: "… Doubtful…"
Hector puts his arms up behind his head.
Hector feels a chain right were his arms just went.
Cassandra Lionheart: "I am worried also, but right now…we need to focus on Pyr."
*she gets up and wipes the tears out of her eyes*
Hector: "…hello, what's this?"
Pak: "Hm?"
Pak looks over to Hector.
Dangling in the air is some sort of long chain, with a spiked ball at the end.
Felicia sighs and pats Cassie on the shoulder. "Buck up, Cassandra. You're a big girl."
On the other end of the chain is a handle, tied to a small elevator platform.
Hector turns around.
Pak looks at this… thing.
Hector: "Hm."
[OOC] Hector: WARE KOSO WA
Cassandra Lionheart: "What in the world?"
From somewhere, a feminine voice inquires, "You are the ones Pyrtyr commissioned new weapons for, are you not?"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Ah, yes. I guues so."
Hector unties the handle.
Pak: "Ah… yes, I think so…"
The handle dances away from Hector's hands!
Voice: "Then catch it - if you can."
ORN: "…"
ORN stares at that thing, shrugs, and ignores it
Pak: "Okay?"
Pak jumps and tries to catch it!
[OOC] WC GM: AGI check
ORN looks around for the voice instead
Cassandra Lionheart: "Okkkay!"
Felicia: "…"
The voice seems to be coming from the wall - ORN is familiar with this sort of projection.
Cassandra_Lionheart waits for Pak, then tries to get it herself
Cassandra Lionheart rolled 1d100 and got 97 for a total of 97
Wind magic, versus the Moogles' intercom.
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: …..Love you also..Highwind
Cassandra does not wait long enough, and collides with Pak midair.
Voice: "You'll have to do better than that~!"
The chain whip dances in the air - reminiscent of a fishing hook.
Pak rolled 1d100 and got 33 for a total of 33
Cassandra_Lionheart grips her forehead "Pak, we have to stop meeting like that!"
[OOC] Pak: pass by… uh…
[OOC] Pak: 15.
Pak, despite Cassandra's interference, manages to latch on to the end, just above the spiky part.
ORN darkens completely, grips spear, and heads towards the origin point
Pak ahas~!
Hector grabs Pak around his waist.
Hector: "Don't want you getting pulled to places unknown, now."
Cassandra_Lionheart tries to occupy another part of the chain, and goes for it again
Once ORN reaches where the voice is coming from, he can trace the wind magic to its true origin - which, sure enough, is where the chain whip begins dragging Pak and Hector towards.
ORN jumps, lance first, at the origin!
Hector: "Pull!"
Pak: "E-eek?"
Cassandra Lionheart rolled 1d100 and got 55 for a total of 55
ORN easily shatters the slightly-open door that it is coming through, finding himself in a small workshop. The chain whip stops in midair as the mage who had been manipulating it stops, surprised.
Pak: "Huh?"
ORN levels lance at his throat if its a moogle
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: fail by 3
The mage is an elderly Elvaan woman.
ORN brings the lance down and glares
Cassandra fails to grab the whip. She does, however, grab Hector.
Felicia simply watches, with a mixed look of awe and confusion.
Mage: "Err…"
ORN: "This Unit appologises. The communication method made it seem like moogles again."
Pak: "…I'm confused."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Erm…Hector…Please tell me that is a pocket knife I am hitting with my shoulder…"
[OOC] ORN: heh
Felicia: "Sillyness."
Hector: "Yeah, it is. You might want to step back."
Mage: "Moogles…? You…oh, right, you be from the surface! You have Moogles there?"
Cassandra_Lionheart looks up and blinks then repositions herself so she isn't hurting Hector
ORN nods, clutching spear a little tighter
Hector: "Now!"
Hector pulls.
The chain whip no londer resists, and easily comes down under the pull.
Hector lets go of Pak and catches it.
Pak looks at the chain.
[OOC] Pak: So, do chain whips still have Entangle, or do they lose it for extra damage?
Cassandra_Lionheart lets go of the chain also and looks at it
[OOC] WC GM: To be determined, but probably.
Hector is holding the ball in one hand and the rest of the chain in the other.
Hector: "Ha ha!"
The chain is formed of gleaming metal. You are close enough to a window that it appears molten from certain angles, in the hellish light from outside.
[OOC] WC GM: So, what other new weapons did people get? They're all here.
[OOC] Felicia: who bwuh
[OOC] ORN: bombs
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: that is right, I didn't special order a weapon…
[OOC] Pak: Me neither n.n;
[OOC] Felicia: Word. Though I'll buy a sword upgrade if I get the chance >.>
Hector swings the end with the chain around idly, testing the weight.
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: Yeah, getting the next sword on the Greatsword list would help
ORN pulls out the book from the library, stares at the tiny cylinders on the table, and nods
[OOC] WC GM: All normal weapons are also here - standard Availability.
[OOC] ORN: 54 right now was it?
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: ok, cool.
[OOC] WC GM: Yes.
The mage nods. "Th-those were for the 'giant crystal one'. I assume he meant you."
ORN nods
[OOC] Hector: Let's see if I can upgrade.
Pak goes shopping
[OOC] WC GM: You just did, Hector.
[OOC] WC GM: Weapon-wise. Armor, you'd have to look elsewhere for - but there might be such shops around.
[OOC] Hector: I mean, other things.
ORN picks one up, melds it into his right hand, aims out the shattered door and fires a small chunk of the crystal its embedded in
The mage then looks down the corridor. "Umm, the rest of you can come in if you wish~!"
ORN waits for the bang
[OOC] Hector: 'cause if we're shopping today, I want to see if 54's worth it or I should wait until level 35-36.
[OOC] Sakha: I didn;t know anything about special orders… >_>
Pak peeks in and looks about! "Hi~"
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: 53? Cool..New stuff.
[OOC] WC GM: 54, not 53.
Cassandra_Lionheart walks in and smiles.
Felicia nods, and enters.
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: sorry. Heh.
The rest of the party sees ORN fire something over their heads. It explodes behind them.
Pak: "A-ack~!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "ORN!!! Watch it."
ORN: "This Unit was"
ORN nods, sparkling brilliantly
Hector whistles.
Cassandra Lionheart: "Sometimes…i wonder what ddad was thinking in programming you, brother."
*laughs*
Felicia: "…Hm."
ORN: "This Unit read about using charges to fire projectiles in this book"
ORN: "… It seemed simpler to simply throw the charge like any other chunk of self, however. The result seems extremely amusing ."
ORN picks up the rest of the stack and slowly assimilates it into his arms
Pak: "…I see!"
Pak: "Well… ah, okay."
ORN stares at Pak
ORN: "…"
ORN stares some more
Pak looks about the store. "So! Why were you toying with that chain? >_> Miss Shopkeeper?"
Mage: "The book can teach you how to make more of them."
ORN points at Pak
Mage: "Oh, that? I was just trying to have some fun~."
ORN: "you should tie some to your daggers also"
Pak: "…Nah."
Cassandra_Lionheart listens in and looks at everything she has
Hector: "What if the dagger gets stuck in something? Yeah, not a good idea."
ORN: "Then the explosion occurs internally to the target, resulting in even more effectiveness!"
Cassandra can see a large selection of weapons, crammed into the tiny shop. Yet…the person dresses as a mage, not a weaponsmith.
Hector: "Thanks for this, though."
*he holds the chain whip up a bit* "'preciate it."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Madam, how did you make this stuff? You look more like a teacher of magic than a weaponsmith."
The mage smiles. "Like this, dearie."
She raises her hands. Plasma wells up from a small portal in the corner.
Hector: "Ha ha ha! Oh, wow! That's pretty neat!"
The plasma twirls and twists in the mage's hands, lengthening, widening, eventually forming a crude but serviceable sword.
ORN: "hmm…"
Cassandra_Lionheart watches in wonder
Cassandra_Lionheart goes towards the sword, and picks it up after it cools.
Sakha watches. "Okay… Plasma is awesome…"
Felicia: "…That it is."
Pak: "Yesw. <3"
Cassandra can feel that this sword is nowhere near as powerful as what she already wields - but it would be perfect for a beginning student of swordplay.
Mage: "It takes more time and resources to make a truly great sword, but the technique is much the same."
Cassandra_Lionheart swipes the air a bit, and smiles "This is great. Just like the one I used to practice with behind my mother's back."
Pak oohs!
Felicia rubs her head. "To incorporate such into my weaponsmithing would be useful…"
Pak tries to mimic the mage, only using Shadowstuff instead of Plasma.
Pak: "So it's like this?"
The mage chuckles. "Keep it, if you want."
Cassandra_Lionheart looks and smiles "Thank you madam."
Cassandra gets a Short Sword.
[OOC] Pak: Should I make a MAG check?
[OOC] WC GM: Sure. Just trying to make the same sword?
Cassandra Lionheart: "So, this is good then. Ever hear of the Lionheart's here?"
Pak rolled 1d100 and got 32 for a total of 32
[OOC] Pak: yup
ORN tries using his own 'plasma' to make one, disregarding what he's got loaded in his arms as he forms a massive arc
[OOC] Pak: pass by 32.
ORN rolled 1d100 and got 55 ( Total: 55 ) **
Hector chuckles. "Imitation's a kind of flattery, isn't it? Are ya flattered, ma'am?"
[OOC] ORN: very fail
Mage: "The Lion…oh! Actually, I did hear a tale from the dwarves, a while back."
ORN makes…an arc.
Cassandra_Lionheart perks up and listens "Oh..Can you tell me more madam?"
Felicia decides to join in, and… try, at least.
Felicia rolled 1d100 and got 43 ( Total: 43 )
[OOC] Felicia: Lulz 3 MAG
ORN: "This Unit doesn't get it"
Pak makes a shadowy clone of the sword - a good likeness, but it disappates once he is no longer concentrating on it.
Felicia makes a club, that would break if used once.
Sakha didn't request anything but would now really like a wand…
Felicia sweatdrops.
Felicia: "…Expected."
Mage: "Sure, but…"
She eyes Sakha. "…first, I see I have another customer?"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Okay."
*sits down and waits*
The mage purposefully walks over to her smaller weapons, plucking out a wand, and shows it to the female mithra. "Does this catch your eye, dearie?"
Pak just pokes about, playing with Shadowstuff
Hector pats Pak on the head.
Sakha inspects it closely and senses it's inherent properties.
Felicia drops the club, and looks around at the various other weapons in the shop.
Sakha can feel its power, mostly embedded in the ankh shape - it is almost a wand-dagger, with the tail of the ankh extended.
Felicia can see many weapons - in fact, she has a hard time seeing the walls for all the weapons in stock.
Almost all of them are a uniform gray, forged of the same metal.
[OOC] Hector: brb, bathroom break.
Sakha: "Hmm… no gemstone focus… The shape conducts magical energy to a better degree but it lacks conductivity to other magical endeavors…"
ORN looks for more of the bombs (any ammo types present?)
Sakha: "If I could incorporate a gemstone though… it'd be a lot cheaper than buying one already with a gemstone… and I could make it enhance spellcasting… But I would not be able to benefit for a while…"
Sakha knows her wands.
Mage: "Yes, well, I work better with magic than with gems. But should you wish to have someone set a gem in it, that should not be too hard."
ORN stares at sakha for a second, not knowing half the words she just said, then goes back to playing with and looking for bombs
Felicia pulls a sword out from admist the piles of weapons, and looks it over.
Sakha: "I have a bit of skill in it… but I'd be afraid of ruining your work if I tried such a thing now…"
ORN can see basic materials from which could be made a number of ammunition types.
The mage smiles. "Indeed. Especially with the pressures of…tonight."
ORN points at the materials
ORN: "This Unit would like to purchase these"
[OOC] WC GM: If you're looking at the same version of Hand Bombs I am, I think all of their ammo types are available now.
The mage nods to ORN, and mutters a quick spell. Price tags appears next to the material piles.
[OOC] Felicia: There's only one version that's usable, so yeah :p
[OOC] WC GM: I see two on the ORD Equipment page - but one of them broken, with 0% Availability for its ammo, so I assume he means the other one.
[OOC] Felicia: Yeah
Sakha: "I think I will… I tend to go a bit crazy sometimes and the added channelling of this wand may be useful… Though losing the benefit of my pearl… I've already reached my natural capacity and require gemstone foci to strengthen my spells…"
Sakha hesitates. "But how much is it?"
[OOC] ORN: yeah… although the other one seemed more chaotic and fun I figured it wasn't yet complete or usable yet
Cassandra_Lionheart looks around while sitting and smiles at ORN
Hector chuckles at Sakha's using big words and stuff.
Felicia performs a practice swing or two, testing its weight.
[OOC] Felicia: The others are from Maegdae <_<
[OOC] ORN: yeah ^^;
Sakha glares ice at Hector. "Something funny?"
Mage: "It took a while to make this one, but for you…sixty-three hundred gil."
Hector sighs and shakes his head. "No, nothing at all."
The weight seems quite good - better, slightly, than what Felicia already has.
Sakha: "6300? But it doesn't even have a gemstone! 4500 should suit!"
She haggles.
Sakha rolled 1d100 and got 75 for a total of 75
[OOC] Sakha: ~_~ 1 off
[OOC] Felicia: *pat pat*
Mage: "Ah-ah! Sixty-three hundred. Pyrtyr warned me you like to drive hard bargains; for most others, this would be nine thousand at least!"
Sakha: "I find that hard to believe. Gemstones are integral to good wands, I may be willing to settle for 5000…"
[OOC] Sakha: Can I try again? *puppy eyes*
Cassandra Lionheart: "Over Nine-thousand! Damn!"
*drops her jaw*
The mage shakes her head. "6300."
WC GM: "With a gemstone, it'd be more."
[OOC] WC GM: Sure, try once more.
Sakha rolled 1d100 and got 18 for a total of 18
[OOC] Sakha: Victoly~
The mage gently nudges Cassandra's jaw back into place. "Careful, dear."
Hector is just kinda watching the scene play out. He got what he needed, so it's time for the others to shine.
Sakha: "But seriously, without a gemstone it only channels a user's natural magical energy, and mine is not as good as some people's though I wish it were… It really is not worth 6300 to me."
[OOC] Sakha: Damn Mithra Sage MAG capping at 19… ;-;
[OOC] Hector: Only nineteen? Damn. well, at least you can still raise it.
Cassandra Lionheart: "Sorry…It is just a beautiful wand.."
[OOC] Sakha: No I can't, I'm capped, can only do that with equipment
[OOC] Felicia: Can only raise past cap after everything else is maxed out.
Mage: "Fine, fine. I could go as low as 5100, just so I see SOME profit from it."
[OOC] Sakha: So I'll be losing a point of MAG for this wand.
[OOC] Hector: Ouch. Well, time to move on to more stats.
Sakha: "I can settle for that."
She smiles and nods, giving the payment.
Felicia holds up the sword she had fished out of the piles. "The price of this fine weapon of yours, ma'am?"
[OOC] WC GM: 'Course, in a few levels, she'll probably get a +2 MAG gemstone set.
[OOC] WC GM: That being 51 Availability.
[OOC] Sakha: That's at 35 then?
Mage: "Thank you."
She pockets the gil. "That? Ahh, let me see…" She walks over to inspect.
[OOC] WC GM: Level 35, yes.
[OOC] Sakha: I really want a Uniorn Horn… *imagine's Sakha pulling a Lina*
[OOC] WC GM: Sakha and Lina do share many similarities.
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: I thought we leveled up to 36 from last week? »
[OOC] Felicia: Bwuh
[OOC] ORN: fine, fine, this unit will grow one? ^^;;;
[OOC] WC GM: You're at level 32.
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: oh yeah…fart where did I get that from?
[OOC] WC GM: Leveled up to 32 last week; you were 31 last week.
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: I was thinking of something else then…Sorry, we are 32
Mage: "Ahh, seventy-nine hundred…"
The mage looks at Sakha. "…but to save her the trouble of talking me down further, sixty-four hundred."
Sakha sells her old Pearl Wand too… but she's had it for a long time and is sad to see it go…
Felicia: "Done!"
Felicia holds the weapon in her mouth while she digs out the gil for it.
Hector quirks an eyebrow at Felicia, her being capable of holding a SWORD in her mouth.
ORN sells his old spear… for now
Mage: "A pleasure doing business!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Wow…"
[OOC] Sakha: Can I sell it for 2000 instead of 1500?
Felicia: "ahn ih ou on't ind-…"
She removes the blade. "Excuse me- And if you don't mind, please take this off my hands." She hands over her old Vigilante.
[OOC] Sakha: Can I?
[OOC] WC GM: Trade got discounts on the buying, not the selling.
Mage: "Certainly."
She does so; the blade vanishes in her hand, turning into gil, some of which she refunds to Felicia.
Mage: "I hope you don't mind my recycling it, but I only keep my own work in my shop."
The gil looks…quite a bit funky, but seems to have the right material content to be taken as tradeable.
Felicia nods with a smile. "Understandable, I would do the same."
[OOC] WC GM: Sakha: you can try Trade again to get that increase, though.
Hector holds his Manticore Tail out. "I don't need this anymore. Could I sell it to you?"
Sakha bargains sentimental value to get a better price on her wand.
Sakha rolled 1d100 and got 56 for a total of 56
[OOC] Sakha: Pass by 18
The mage nods at Hector, then siighs at Sakha. "…fine. Here!" Hands over 2000 Gil.
Sakha glows.
Hector: "Thanks muchly, ma'am."
*he puts the whip on the counter*
Pak picks out a hat!
Pak: "Hey, I want this. How much is it?"
[OOC] Pak: thief hat
Mage: "Sixty-three…"
Looks at Sakha. Sighs. "…fifty-one hundred."
Hector made 1800 gil off the Manticore Tail.
Pak nods! And pays, selling back his Scholar Hat.
Sakha's ears twitch as sh glows in pleasurable malice directed at the shopkeeper.
Sakha has a grin that could almost be said to be… evil…
Felicia looks around for where Pak got that hat from.
[OOC] Sakha: Do not want to be on her bad side…
[OOC] ORN: everyone done?
Ahiru picks up a new ribbon.
Mage: "I had that from a friend. If you want more armor, the friend is upstairs."
Felicia: "Ah."
Ahiru also gets a Thief Hat.
Pak: "n_n"
Pak satisfied.
[OOC] Felicia: Oooh, we can buy Veils now
[OOC] Hector: Lead us through the looking glass.
Cassandra_Lionheart looks at the Mage "So, about my family? Or are you still busy, madam?"
[OOC] Felicia: And adamant shards are artifacts now, teehee >_>
Felicia heads on up, looking for this supposed friend.
[OOC] Ahiru: Do I get a Milan Ribbon for 5100 too?
[OOC] WC GM: Yes.
Mage: "Ah, it looks like business is done."
Pak: "So, can you tell us about this city?"
Felicia finds, directly above the weaponsmith's…a clerk who has clearly been crying.
Felicia: "…"
Mage: "First things first. The Lionhearts. I…heard from the dwarves, many years ago, tales of someone from the surface with great power."
Mage: "This was before the whole Volcannon business, mind you."
Ahiru followed Felicia up and puts a hand on the clerk's shoulder.
Cassandra_Lionheart nods and listens
Mage: "But yes. A great mage, powerful and terrible. Feared by many."
Mage: "She was eventually brought down, and her infant daughter taken away to be raised with morals."
The clerk looks up. "Unnh…whaa…oh! C-customers!"
The clerk tries to perk up, but she is not having much success. "W-welcoome…to what I have left…"
Cassandra_Lionheart thinks and listens some more
Felicia smiles, and looks around.
The walls of the armor shop are nearly bare. Faded purple, peeling in a few places, covers the walls.
But what armor they have is top notch. It seems familiar somehow.
Pak hms? He follows Felicia up the stairs, curious!
Hector checks the upstairs.
Mage: "That's the essence of the story. I shan't bore you with details - I'm sure the version I heard was exaggerated, and I'm not sure I'd remember it all anyway."
Cassandra Lionheart: "I didn't know…Never asked mom about it. Maybe my great grandmother? And the details won't bore me madam."
Felicia ponders, looking over a helm. What was so familiar about it?
Mage: "Oh? Very well. It is said that she helped shape the land. Made the continents smooth, with a mountain to the north for royalty to rule from."
Pak: "Ooh?"
Pak: "That…"
The style, the craftsmanship…it seems like Felicia has seen it before, recently.
Pak: "Hm."
Clerk: "I-if you'd like my wares…please, I'd like to sell!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Really? So they stopped this person, and now…my great grandmom was the survivor maybe?"
Clerk: "I promised her I'd sell them."
Mage: "What's this about your great grandmother?"
Ahiru buys the Thief Hat selling her old Steepled Hat
Cassandra Lionheart: "I think my great grandmother…she never really talked about her childhood with anybody."
Pak: "Her?"
The clerk sends the Steepled Hat down a chute. Downstairs, the mage looks up as something drops in through the ceiling, recycles it into gil, and sends part of it back up. Upstairs, the clerk catches the gil as it emerges and hands it to Ahiru.
Hector goes shopping but doesn't buy a whole lot.
Felicia blinks. "Ah… how much for this?"
[OOC] Felicia: Knight Helm
[OOC] Hector: I'll do my shopping this week when I'm feeling well enough to do math without a calculator.
Ahiru gapes in awe.
ORN can't just yet
Clerk: "The person I bought this from. This…I set up as an outlet store for her wares, but now she's GONE! WA-A-A-A-fifty one hundred, thanks-A-A-AH!"
ORN stares
Felicia sweatdrops.
Hector: "An outlet store?"
ORN: "Oo.Oo"
Clerk: "We…we were going to set up business together…but now she found someone she'd rather partner with."
Hector: "Oh, a, uh…"
Hector: "One of those Mignon girls?"
Pak: "eeh…"
Felicia: "…Mignon?"
The clerk looks at the party with wet eyes. "You heard too? How Mignon Lilas just…left?"
ORN: "… . . uh oh."
Hector: "Well, she kinda had to go 'cause her city got flooded with lava and destroyed."
Clerk: "That's no excuse!"
Hector: "And then she went on a quest to find another Mignon named Rose, and…"
Felicia: "…"
Hector recounts the story about the Mignons and the cuteifying.
Felicia raises a finger to speak. But stops herself. She hands over the gil for the helm.
The clerk listens to Hector with wide eyes and rapt attention, only moving to handle the gil.
Clerk: "I see…"
Hector: "…and, now, we were asked to find their other sister, and we have a minor lead, but not much else."
Hector: "I s'pose everything'll fall into place eventually."
Clerk: "A lead?"
Hector: "Yeah, they felt her presence somewhere."
Hector: "That's about it."
ORN: "What about this one?"
Clerk: "Then…then…tell you what! Buy my wares and I'll go off to find her myself!"
Clerk: "If I can make Mignon Lilas happy…"
The clerk smiles and sighs.
Hector: "Well, I did buy a few things…"
The clerk gestures to her shop. It is almost empty. In fact, the only things left are the upgrades you would want to get anyway.
ORN perks up at the word upgrades
Pak bought stuff~
Cassandra Lionheart: "So, madam, that is all you remeber?"
*smiles*
ORN: "Upgrades?"
Felicia also exchanges her old Paladin helm for gil.
Mage: "More or less. Even back then, there was not much contact between the surface and down here."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Thank you, madam. I appreciate the information."
Mage: "Not a problem."
The clerk looks up as you finish your purchases, a genuine smile on her face. "Thank you from the bottom of my heart~! Now, as promised!"
Cassandra_Lionheart smiles at the mage and looks around some more
She kicks open the back of her store, revealing a magma boat. Giggling, she explains, "I heard how Lilas built an evacuation ship just in time, so I tried to follow her techniques~."
Pak: "…n.n;"
Clerk: "I don't know if I will find anything, but I shall at least try. Perhaps we may meet again some day!"
She jumps into the boat, which detaches and lands with a splash, then begins rowing away.
Pak: "…I see."
Hector: "Heh, neat."
ORN: "This Unit thinks it rather strange that she did not ask This Group where the location was…"
ORN shrugs
ORN: "Perhaps it is for the best. Now, This Group should likely return to the violent spreading of joy"
Hector: "I bet she can feel them. Like a…mental bond or somethin'."
Cassandra_Lionheart gets up top to see the others, and the open door. "Darn it."
Pak: "Anyway, what do we do now?"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Find Pyrtyr…and..kill..him."
ORN: "Among others. Besides, there may be other interference on the way, and Pyrtyr may not necessarily be dying directly by This Group's hands."
Pak: "Right~"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Well, then, let us just find him."
ORN nods
The scent of food wafts down from above.
Stomachs begin to growl.
Hector looks up. "Food? Man, how tall is THIS city?"
Pak sniff!
Pak: "Food… <3 Want food!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "I am a bit hungry myself."
Hector: "yeah. Let's get something to eat. I doubt even Orn would think we should fight on an empty stomach."
Felicia: "…Food would be nice."
ORN nods
Hector can see that the party is around floor 5. The top is almost 100 flors above…almost.
Cassandra_Lionheart looks to ORN and giggles
This city, in fact, seems quite a bit similar to the other cities - like the same architects designed it.
Pak: "…My."
Pak: "Well, let's go!~"
Pak starts climbing stairs!
Restaurants can easily be seen on some of the floors, ringing the empty central shaft of the stalactite.
As the party walks up, a chef waves to them from a restaurant.
Chef: "Visitors from the surface! Pyrtyr told us all about you!"
ORN starts getting suspicious
Cassandra Lionheart: "He did?"
Pak: "Ah…?"
Chef: "Yes! You've weakend our northern kins' resolve, so we can go reconquer them now."
The chef seems a bit old - perhaps over a century.
[OOC] ORN: finally, a fight!
Chef: "Even if he won't be joining us."
ORN: "That is not how things shall proceed, lest you reconfirm their percieved need of bigotry"
Chef: "Dinner's on the house for you!"
Pak: "n.n; H-hey… wait, that's not how it should go…"
Felicia: "…"
Warped imitations of…blue steak, maybe?…are presented. At least they smell appetizing.
Pak: "…Hm…?"
Pak sniffsniff
The smell is correct. Chocobo flank, grilled to near-perfection. But the color is inverted.
Pak: "…Um…"
Pak takes a bite!
Cassandra_Lionheart looks at her piece and smiles "It doesn't matter. It looks good." *takes a bite from it.*
It tastes good, even.
Cassandra_Lionheart smiles brighter "Go ahead guys. this is wonderful."
Felicia doesnt seem too keen on eating.
Hector eats, seeing that the people who tried it haven't keeled over.
ORN glances at Felicia
Pak eateateat
Sakha: "I don't see what's special about using plasma-made food and making it look odd…"
Sakha does eat anyway though.
Chef: "Odd? I try my bestest, but it long time since I do this."
Cassandra Lionheart: "It is very good sir!"
Chef: "Thank you!"
ORN glares at the chef
Cassandra_Lionheart smiles, and lightly dabs some ketchup on it*
The ketchup is purple, but it too tastes correct.
ORN: "Who currently leads this area, and where has the idea or decision regarding a 'reconquering' come from within this region?"
Felicia pushes her plate away from her. "Yes, who?"
Chef: "Pyrtyr leads, of course. But he said we can reintroduce magic to our kin now."
Chef: "I remember how it used to be. So of course it'll be that way again."
Felicia: "Incorrect."
ORN: "Reintroduce, correct. Reconquering attempts will be met with genocide."
ORN goes completely dark
Chef: "Pyrtyr said he must sacrifice himself to seal Pyr."
The chef waves his hand. "Something you surfacers need to deal with."
[OOC] Hector: Am I timing out?
Cassandra_Lionheart sighs
[OOC] WC GM: Nope.
ORN: "Such matters also affect your existance. The reintroduction of magic is to be made to the benefit of both the plasma-wielders and traditional magic users of the subterranean non-creators."
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: brb
ORN: "Attempts by the plasma-wielders to eliminate all magic users have already been dealt with with the utmost violence. Similar attempts to break the peace by those that ingrained such fears within them will be met with equally deadly force."
Chef: "I only understood half of that…but I think I agree. Of course we'll help them out, as their natural rulers."
ORN stands
Pak: "…Bleh."
Pak: "No wonder there were revolts…"
Chef: "Most of the people here are looking forward to it."
ORN: "The annihilation This Unit refers to is directly and consistently provided to hostiles by This Group. Any attempts to rule over rather than treat as equals will result in the premature annihilation of those lacking a properly open mind."
ORN: "Pyrtyr understood this and is willing to sacrifice himself for this matter. If genocide is required to prevent a number of citizens from corrupting this ideal, then this city shall not survive the upcoming battle"
Chef: "Of course they're equals. They can learn too! But those that don't care to educate themselves, well, they don't lead."
ORN: "Leading is leading. Plasma manipulation is plasma manipulation. Magic is magic. These are seperate skills and abilities. Do not force This Unit to use an alternative teaching method to get such a simple point across."
ORN intimidate roll?
Chef: "Who built the cities? Who made life possible? I'm a little amazed they haven't wrecked more than they have - Pyrtyr told us about that one city that fell in. He said you were there to witness it."
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: back
Hector scratches the back of his head.
[OOC] WC GM: You can try, but at a significant penalty. This is a line he's been telling himself for most of his life.
Pak: "That was Pyr's doing…!"
Hector: "Man, isn't this a delicate political situation or somethin'? Does everyone hafta be all violent in some way about it?"
ORN rolled 1d100 and got 19 ( Total: 19 ) **
[OOC] ORN: before penalty, made by 21
Hector: "Food's good, by the way, Mister Chef."
Chef: "Thank ya!"
Felicia glances towards Hector. "Yes."
The chef looks at ORN, clearly nervous, but finding some courage.
Chef: "Look, even if I believed ya, whaddya gonna do about it?"
Chef: "Even you couldn't take on everyone here."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Seal Pyr."
Chef: "You'd need an army to stop us."
ORN: "… . ."
ORN glows and sparkles for a moment
Cassandra Lionheart: "LOOK! STOP THE FIGHTING!"
ORN: "How indeed…."
Pak: "Orn, please don't destroy the city."
Pak: "That'd only make things worse."
Hector: "Man, Orn. Calm down."
Hector: "Sometimes we just gotta let other people handle their own problems."
Cassandra_Lionheart looks the Chef right in the eye "The only thing we are here for is Pyr! It is very unfortunate Pyrtyr is his avatar! I like him, and I don't want to kill him, but…but!" *she begins to cry right in front of the chef*
Hector: "Oh, for…"
Felicia grumbles.
The chef pats Cassandra on the shoulder. "Sorry to see him go myself."
Hector facepalms.
Chef: "But he say is needed. Not gonna argue with him."
Ahiru: "But Pyrtyr will still be around… with me!"
ORN glares at hector for a moment
Felicia stands.
ORN: "Obtaining one would be of little difficulty, although the necessity of one for just one city is debatable…"
ORN: "Ahiru, however… … could prove capable here."
Cassandra Lionheart: "I like him. I want him to be okay after the fight, but, we have to seal Pyr. And if it means killing him, it can't be avoided I guess."
Pak: "Nn…"
Pak: "it'll be okay. n.n"
Pak: "Although, Cassie…"
Pak: "You really should be careful."
Hector: "Whatever's gonna happen is gonna happen, simple as that."
Pak: "I've already dealt with this, remeber?"
Pak holds a finger up.
Pak: "And I've been okay, so of course you'll be fine!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Yeah. Your right Pak."
Cassandra Lionheart: "It is all Pyr's fault…If killing him will at least bring Pyrtyr some closeure. Then so be it."
Pak: "Yup!"
Pak: "At this point… we just gotta go through with it."
Cassandra_Lionheart nods, and hugs Pak "Thanks."
ORN: "Great care will be required for the reintegration of what now appears to be a corrupt number into the subterranean non-elvaan society. That is pyrtyr's goal, after all."
Pak: "We can fix political problems once a certain planetoid is done being about to crush us."
ORN stares at Pak
Pak: "…What?"
Pak: ">_> Priorities are important!"
ORN: "The impending crash is likely to be used in such a powergrab. This Unit may have a plan, however, and Pyr does take priority at the moment."
Pak: "Nah, I don't think many people know about that."
ORN: "Before those with nothing better to do try to take over for their own ego"
ORN glares at the chef saying that last line
The chef smiles and waves a bit nervously.
Chef: "Right, well, if you done here, Pyrtyr waiting. Top floor."
Felicia sighs. "T'would be better if they could simply learn harmony."
ORN nods, and heads out the door
The chef points to an elevator platform.
ORN nods at Felicia and looks to the chef one last time
Cassandra_Lionheart sighs and goes to the elevator platform
ORN: "It will prove interesting to see how many share your misguided views and how many will survive the near future…. respectively"
ORN walks out to the platform
The platform rises once all are aboard.//
