Mid-day, Boltember 1 Minday.
The party has been on the train for a while. So far, so calm.
[OOC] Pak: I wonder what shorthand date notation is.

Pak is cuddled up next to Sakha~
[OOC] WC GM: 519, actually.
[OOC] Pak: Oh. K
[OOC] WC GM: There being multiple Ms, Ps, and Gs.
Cassandra_Lionheart is draped over ORN, like a blanket
Sakha is napping contentedly.
[OOC] WC GM: Actually - 419. Start counting from 0 so shorthand can get away w/a single digit.
ORN stares blankly across the car
Pak hmms…
Ahiru pouts.
Cassandra_Lionheart whimpers something, and instinctivly hugs ORN, as if to shelter her from some danger.
The squeal of brakes announces another stop. //"Rocktown. Rocktown. All departing at Rocktown, please depart."
Pak hops up out of bed suddenly!
Felicia sits quietly, continuing to overlook the map from earlier.
Pak hops out of just in time to lose his balance and fall over.
Pak: "A-ack~"
Ahiru: "What is the name of the capitol?"
Hector_MKII is following the party
[OOC] Hector MKII: Since the correct player is not present
ORN: "… Good question…."
Pak: "Felicia has a map."
Cassandra_Lionheart wakes up and looks ORN in the eye.
Felicia's map shows the aboveground world. The dwarven cities are not marked.
ORN looks down and blinks all 4
ORN: "Sleep well?"
Felicia raises her eyebrow. "If you recall, it is a wordless map, at that."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Kind of."
*yawns and strecthes* "I." *looks down* "Oh, sorry ORN."
Pak: "Someone go ask a conductor."
Pak stands up.
Pak: "I'm gonna go look outside for a moment to see what this looks like."
Pak peers out a window, if it has them.
Cassandra_Lionheart hops off and dusts herself off, and blushes
ORN ^^;
There are two windows in this cabin pointing outside, in addition to the window on the door leading to the main corridor through the train.
ORN: "No apologies required. This Unit enjoys such situations."
Cassandra_Lionheart really blushes now and looks to the window
Felicia: "Their supposed capital is quite large though. For all we know, this could be part of it…"
The town outside looks a bit larger than the ones the party saw before. Big enough that only the first block or two can be seen from the train station.
Passengers depart and embark up ahead. Quite a few of the embarking passengers are dressed more flashily than most of the dwarves you have seen.
Some of them even seem painted.
ORN: "Excuse This Unit. This the capital?"
[OOC] WC GM: Who are you asking? You're in your own cabin, observing through a nonopenable window.
Faint music comes from within the city - muffled by the train's solid wall.
Cassandra Lionheart: "Well, I say we should get moving to find Fakir and Gaia."
It is a hard, driven beat.
[OOC] ORN: actually I'd been staying in the corridor
[OOC] WC GM: Ah.
[OOC] ORN: so asking some of those people you said were getting out
One of the passing dwarves looks up.
Ahiru slumps again at mention of Fakir.
Dwarf: "Capital? Just the capital of ROCK!"
He sticks his hand up in a wierd gesture - a fist, with thumb and pinky extended.
looks to Ahiru* "I'm sorry."
Dwarf: "You want the seat of government, that's way far ahead. You taking this train to the end of the line?"
ORN: "Affirmative. However this "
Capital of Rock" may prove interesting in the future. This Unit thanks you."
[OOC] Ahiru: *facepalm* why do you have to be sorry forevery thing?
Felicia: "If the train is to continue further towards the capital, and the volcannon, then we should stay here if we wish to pass him, Cassie."
Dwarf: "Party at the Volcannon for me, you hear?"
He brandishes the gesture again as if in salute, then gets back on his way.
Ahiru looks at Cassie blankly.
Cassandra_Lionheart nods with Felicia
Pak: "…Well.."
Cassandra Lionheart: "True."
[OOC] Hector MKII: Why did I see that one incoming a mile away? Move on
ORN tries the gesture and nods
Pak: "Hmm."
[OOC] Ahiru: Ju knows WC
Pak: "…Um…"
Pak goes up the cars to look for a conductor.
It is not hard to find a conductor. One is standing near the doors leading out, monitoring traffic.
Pak: "Ah, sir? How long are we gonna be stopped?"
Conductor: "We are scheduled to resume in…"
He brings out a pocket watch. "…EXACTLY seventeen minutes forty-two seconds."
Cassandra Lionheart: "Well, lets stay on the train and see what is going on."
Conductor: "If you want to get out and stretch, make it quick."
Pak: "OKay."
Pak looks about.
ORN nods
Pak calls back into the sleeping car. "Okay, guys! There's only 17 minutes before we leave again."
Pak casts Sight!
Now that Pak has an unobstructed path to the outside, he can hear the music much more clearly.
ORN: "There are other sections to this train…"
ORN looks over to Cassie
ORN: "This Unit will look around the main engine."
Pak hears the music and sees…
Cassandra Lionheart: "Yes, ORN?"
*looks at him with a puzzled look*
Pak sees that the town - almost a city, but not QUITE on the scale of Seaburg or the others back home - stretches quite a ways.
Pak: "I-it's huge!"
There seem to be several "outdoor" arenas, set up as performance venues.
Felicia: "Hm."
She tucks away the map, exiting the cabin. "I'll take a short walk."
Conductor: "Never been to Rocktown before?"
Pak tries to see if he can figure- ah. "Those areas are where the music's coming from…"
Pak: "Nope."
Pak looks in the conductor's direction blankly.
Conductor: "This city's the heart and soul of our music. Almost all good rock comes from Rocktown. That's why they renamed it."
Cassandra_Lionheart thinks and looks to ORN
Pak: "I like it…"
Pak drops SIGHT.
Cassandra Lionheart: "Seventeen minutes? Shall we find a shop then?"
Pak: "Whatever you do, hurry~"
Conductor: "It's not a place for light sleepers, though. There's music most every second of every day. The houses have to be built with good acoustical insulation."
Pak: "…Hehe."
ORN: "… This Unit wanted to seek the main engine… Though This Unit could see it at the next stop…"
[OOC] WC GM: And yes, we will be invoking Hollywood Time for those "seventeen minutes", if you wish to RP it. ;)
ORN nods, resigned to his fate?
Cassandra_Lionheart looks at ORN and smiles, putting an arm around him
Cassandra_Lionheart exits the car, with ORN in tow, smiling "We will be back."
Felicia makes her way off the train, taking a glance around at the musical town.
The conductor leans in close and whispers, "Do give the people getting on board a bit of room, though. Some of them are forcing themselves to leave the parties, and can get a mite disappointed."
Pak: "Okay~"
There is a small convenience store right at the train station - almost as if expecting tourists to shop while the train is stopped.
Pak gets off with the rest of the group.
Pak: "Ooh! Store."
Pak runs up to it.
Indeed, the party recognizes a few of their fellow travellers making purchases there.
Cassandra_Lionheart sees the store also, and races…with ORN in tow

The music is VERY easy to hear, now that you are outside.

There are, you would estimate, three…no, four bands playing at once.

ORN: "Hm… … This sounds less… sleep-inducing than what the Creators usually listened to…"
ORN buys two ethers
Cassandra_Lionheart grabs 10 Phoenix Downs for 5000 Gils, and smiles
Pak buys another one
At least two of the bands seem to be directly competing with and riffing upon one another.
Pak: ">_>;"
Pak: "We've always been low on Phoenix Downs."
ORN: "Are you expecting sakha to fail to notice battle again?"
The shopkeeper says nothing, instead pointing out the prices on a cash register and smiling when payment is received.
Cassandra Lionheart: "I have the Gil. Plus you never know when your going to hit another toen right?"
*rifles them away with her 19 Hi-Potions*
Felicia sweatdrops. "…Better safe than sorry, I suppose."
Sakha rolls over in her nap on the train.
Felicia merely grabs 2 Ethers.
ORN: "hm.."
ORN nods
Cassandra Lionheart: "Good. I think that will be it for now then."
Pak: "Yeah, I'm good too. n.n"
Pak looks outside.
Pak: "…I kinda wanna see that concert…"
Cassandra_Lionheart smiles at the shop keeper and waits for ORN to finish up
Pak can tell at a glance there is not enough time to go see the concert, and make it back before the train leaves.
ORN pays for his stuff and is done
[OOC] Cassandra Lionheart: Darn should have tried to seduce the shopkeeper to lower the prices. >.>;
Pak: "Hmm…"
Ahiru watches the bands curiously and tries to come up with a way to dance to that beat.

Cassandra Lionheart: "Well, I'm just glad my family doesn't have a school for White Mages here. I think I'd be in big trouble."

A less experienced person - even Ahiru herself, a week or two ago - would have had problems. But Ahiru pulls off a more than passable impromptu dance.
[OOC] Felicia: One level short of hi-ethers :<
It is not long before Ahiru attracts more than a few passing stares of appreciation.
Ahiru steps her feet to the beat, spins and walks backwards, spins and does the splits.
ORN: "Trouble can be caused or eliminated. Are they not all Healers? This Unit would think they would appreciate a profession that grants them work…"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Yes, but I rebelled against them. I took up arms, rather than the healing arts."
Felicia rolls her eyes, and wanders off further into the town, overlooking the venues.
A couple of the others, waiting to board, begin trying to imitate Ahiru's dance, following her lead.

Pak IMs Fire to offer up some cool special effects for Ahiru's dance.

Cassandra_Lionheart then watches Ahiru, and smiles, trying to mimic Ahiru's movements
[OOC] WC GM: And Dancing for Cassandra - at a bonus
ORN: "Even the Creators let This Series experiment individually with varying weapons, though other factors were mostly from design. All were given basic understanding of bladed weapons on either arm however … This Unit was a little… clumsy with them."

ORN stares and wonders why they're all trying to charm/confuse eachother, only having seen this done in battle
Cassandra's dancing is a little clumsy. Pak's special effects, though, draw in observers - and participants.
In short order, Ahiru finds herself leading an impromptu dance troupe.
Ahiru tries to get more creative, feeling happy.

ORN tries whatever they're doing

Ahiru is far and away the best of the lot, but the others keep trying. Even ORN keeps up, to some extent.
Ahiru throws her whole body into the dancing, waving her arms around and even doing a mid-air flip.
[OOC] WC GM: Thanks to large bonuses, but still.
Cassandra_Lionheart continues to try to dance, seeing if she can finally mimic it right
ORN really not sure WHAT they're doing, but hey, if the whole party's trying it…
Sakha zzzzs.
Conductor: "All ABOARD!"
The dancers following Ahiru dance their way onto the train.
Pak: "Ah!"
Pak heads onto the train.
Cassandra_Lionheart dances onto the train and is smiling.
Ahiru dances her way to the train too, laughing.
ORN stops before he hits something…. Train kinda small >.>
Felicia makes her way through the crowds back to the group as it begins loading. She shakes her head with a small sigh at the dancing.
Cassandra Lionheart: "I haven't felt this good in a long time."
Ahiru smiles.
Soon enough, the doors close up and the train is on its way again.
Several of the dancers mill around the corridor.
[OOC] Ahiru: I feel like laughing… comparing Felicia to Carmen… XD
ORN: "… This Unit may prefer jumping.."
Dwarf: "That was RIGHTEOUS!"
Pak: "Hehehe~"
Cassandra_Lionheart walks next to Ahiru and smiles "I think I need to learn to dance from you."
Dwarf2: "Totally! You should come dance for our band, the Mind Flayers!"
Ahiru looks up at Cassie then looks to the dwarves blinking.
Dwarf: "Nuh-uh! She should dance for us, the GLs!"
[OOC] ORN: snicker
Dwarf2: "…dude, you still haven't decided on a name?"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Now guys. Ahiru dances for everybody."
Dwarf: "Eh. Ghast, Lich, they both sound good."
ORN: "… LFG?"
Pak: "Mind Flayers…?"
Pak: "What's a Mind Flayer?"
Ahiru blushes a little.
[OOC] ORN: certainly not lich-fucking-ghasts. I obviously mean looking-for-group as a name >.> ;p
Dwarf2: "Mind Flayers are the most AWESOME band ever!"
Cassandra Lionheart: "Could you teach me to dance better than I do now, Ahiru?"
Dwarf1: "Not. You just took your name from some monster of myth."
Ahiru scratches her head.
Dwarf2: "Pot. Kettle. Black."
ORN: "… ?"
Felicia: "…"
ORN: "Hm…"
Pak: "Monster?"
ORN: "What kind of monsters?"
Ahiru: "I do…I don't know… I just watched and did what I saw and I feel the music…"
Pak: "We fight monsters…"
Felicia heads back to the cabin, plopping down into her seat.
Dwarf1: "Yo, if you really wanna see…"
ORN nods
ORN: "See what? This talk of Rocks and monsters has This Unit most interested."
The conductor blinks, then hurries most of those standing around away.
Conductor: "Oh please Gaia spare my train…"
The two four-member bands seem to shimmer and grow.
Ahiru blinks.
The party's danger sense TINGLES.
Cassandra Lionheart: "Can we stop the fighting over a band name PLEASE!?!?!?"

Sakha grumbles and mumbles about not getting enough sleep.

Conductor: "Did I hear correctly that you intend to ride all the way to the end of the line?"
Cassandra Lionheart: "I think so sir."

ORN: "This Group must make its way to the Capital for interception, yes."
Conductor: "Ah. There are multiple stops within the capital - it is a big city, you see - but the end of the line is the Volcannon. We shall be arriving there at PRECISELY one minute to noon on Aerday."
Pak: "How many days is that?"
ORN nods
ORN: "Thank You."
The conductor gives Pak an odd look. "It is Minday now, so Aerday is three days hence."
Pak: "Sorry…"
Pak: "I've been traveling around a lot, so my sense of time is kind of distorted. n.n;"
Conductor: "Ah, very good."
He walks off.
Time passes on. Most of the rest of the trip passes without incident…//
