Ahiru's Background

[OOC] KuGMpo: So…was this going to be first meeting with Graav?
[OOC] Ahiru: yes, I'm a duck trying to find Fakir
[OOC] Ahiru: And I followed a legend to find a creature that could grant wishes
KuGMpo: Following tales and legends is hard for a duck. Just understanding the written word is hard enough. But you have managed…
KuGMpo: …though it helped that there was some pull to this pond. It just feels like where you needed to go.
KuGMpo: A pool in the bottom of a valley. Do you hop in?
Ahiru looks at her reflection in the water, wades in and starts swimming in it, looking down into the water still.
KuGMpo: The water should not be deep enough for a whirlpool, yet somehow one forms. Yet it seems gentle - you're caught on the edge, but not being sucked in.
?: "You who feed me air and water. You have come at last."
KuGMpo: There is a definite presence here - as if the voice was not clue enough - but nothing visible yet, aside from the whirlpool.
Ahiru ducks her head under the water, trying to see if anything was there and quacks
KuGMpo: There is a body at the bottom of the whirlpool, lying motionless. It does not feel like the source of the presence.
?: "Is this what you have come for? I know of your master; he spoke of you. But you are not with him."
Ahiru flaps her wings, quacks and nods her head abou the master
?: "Ah. Here, take this that you might better state your needs."
KuGMpo: The whirlpool inverts. The body rises up, up, towards you…
KuGMpo: When things settle down, you are on your back, at the edge of the pool. You feel bigger…and wet, like you somehow got water under your feathers.
Ahiru pushes her 'wings' against the ground to right herself and starts to realize her legs seem longer. She looks at her 'wings' and sees arms, falling on her face inthe shock
?: "This form should enable you to speak like I am speaking. What is it you have come here to seek?"
Ahiru sits up and braces herself with her arms between her legs. //"Fakir, he's gone."
Ahiru: "I need to find him."
?: "Ah…? He is on an errand. He did not take you with him?"
?: "Perhaps it is just as well. I forgot to give him something he will need. You are perhaps the best one to give it to him."
?: "But the way is dangerous. Keep the form - you will need it. You will need help, as well."
?: "Did he tell you where he was going?"
Ahiru: "He went to follow the stories, so I started following a story…"
?: "Oh? Tell me."
Ahiru: "Well I understood Fakir and he did so much with me, so he was gone for a while and I started to worry, so I started looking… There was a story about making wishes come true so I wanted to find Fakir, so I wanted that wish to come true."
?: "Ohoho. The last one who came to me spoke of granting wishes too, and I could grant the wish requested…"
?: "…and I can help grant yours as well. Mine is not the power of wishes, but it appears that it is."
?: "Fakir seeks the spirits of the elements. They have grown hostile in recent ages, so he sought to calm them down."
?: "He seeks diplomacy. I fear his way might not work, so I created a device to capture the spirits."
?: "Look at your brooch - and while you're at it, look at yourself in the water. This form is one you will need to wear for a while."
Ahiru crawls over to the pond and looks in at the freckled redhead in the water. She looks at the brooch she is wearing on her vest. "So this will help me find him?"
?: "Not as such. But it will help you rescue him."
?: "Seek out the spirits of the elements. He has gone in search of the same. This device will let you capture them."
KuGMpo: //The brooch is a simple affair, a shiny disc with nine slots around the side.

KuGMpo: Each slot is colored - red, brown, yellow, green, ice blue, sky blue, deep blue, white, and black
?: "This brooch will also aid you with your new form. So long as you wear it, you can will yourself between this form and your true form - but do not overdo it, or you will exhaust yourself."
Ahiru: "Something's missing… in the brooch… and as long as I wear this, I can change forms?"
?: "Yes. The empty spaces are for the spirits of the elements. As you capture them, you will be able to assume new forms. Eventually, you should be able to transform even without the brooch - think of it as a training aid, as well as a capture device."
?: "Although I do not know Fakir's exact location, I can give you clues to find that which he seeks."
?: "Find it, and you will hopefully find him."
Ahiru: "Will you come with me?"
?: "It is safer if I do not. The spirits Fakir seeks could sense my approach."
?: "But then, I am in all things. While you walk this world, and beyond, I shall be with you. Should you need my aid, call for Graav."
?: "I shall respond if I can hear you."
Ahiru: "So if I have questions I just need to ask?"
?: "If I can hear you, yes. The corruption that the elemental spirits have unleashed upon the world may make that difficult."
?: "Indeed, it is that very corruption that Fakir seeks to end."
?: "It is already to the point that you will need help to reach him. There is a band of bandits, to the northwest, who may be of assistance."
?: "But you will need to rescue them first."
?: "Although it may not seem like it at first, your cause and theirs are the same. Succeed in your quest, and what they seek shall be granted."
Ahiru: "So I'll get some help if I help them?"
?: "Yes. But they make take some convincing."
?: "I would offer you more if I could. You have defied me without knowing it, as easily as you breathe. This game has given me much amusement."
?: "But now is no longer the time for games. You seek Fakir, and his task must be completed before the world ends."
Ahiru: "So help people to the north, gather spirits and by doing that I'll find Fakir?
?: "That is the plan. Let us hope it succeeds."
Ahiru turns away and looks around. //"So I head north?"//
?: "Do not just 'head' north, little one."
?: "You need to adjust to your new form. You have danced through the sky for so long, and this form has likewise danced in its time."
?: "Besides, you wish to appear graceful when you find Fakir, do you not?"
?: "Try practicing moving around, until this new body feels natural to you."
?: "Besides, you flew in here. You will need to leap over the rocks to exit. Leave once you feel ready."
[OOC] KuGMpo: …and begin tutorial level.
[OOC] KuGMpo: So, this work? Or was there anything else you wanted to cover?
[OOC] Ahiru: that's good
