Gio kinda likes junk and the discarded. He has a lava lamp next to his bed and dislikes throwing things out.
He has a certain kind of honest, frank trickiness - he tends to get favors simply through impassioned pleas. "You have to help me out here!" It helps that he's kind of handsome and friendly, too.
He's very clumsy and can't shoot very well, preferring to fight with a bayonet and his runic blade. Whenever he's asked to shoot a target to prove he can, he nails it with "Unyielding Sword".
He likes secrets because it makes a place feel unique. He travels by weird routes across the base he insists are shortcuts, and also claims that there's this one vending machine that's totally the best deal for drinks because you can get it to give you two for one. This has only worked for Gio thus far, and only happens about 5% of the time anyway.
Appearance
Gio, in or out of uniform, is a bright-eyed young man, about eighteen. His hair is brown with two red fringes near the front. (Dyed.) He has honest, rounded features, and tends to flash an uneasy grin during awkward moments. Though his features are distinctively italian, his skin is a bit browner than most.
In uniform, he holsters his gun, bayonet and all, at his side, while his runic blade hangs on his back, fixed to an empty bandolier. Other than that, what he wears is standard issue - though he tends to keep his coat unbuttoned beyond what is probably wise when he's out in the rain.
Out of uniform he wears a long unbuttoned light tan coat (in both hue and density) over a red vest. He still wears his army boots and camo pants.
Background
Gio was adopted as a very young child by astral agents living in disguise in Venice. At an equally young age, they moved back to Astral, where he grew up. He travelled briefly while he was younger, freely intermingling with human society while being fairly discrete about where he was from, and he enlisted in the forces mostly because he's an idealistic young man who likes doing hands-on work and is kind of eager to move out.
Even though his sympathies tend to lie with his homeland of Astral, his file simply states that he's "Human" - which could make the fact that he got selected specially for Rune Knight training a little unsettling given the political tensions. Those courses and drills were mostly full of humans, too.
